The State of Prom 2027
An annual survey of what students actually spend, wear, and wish they'd known. Free to read, free to cite, and not for sale.

What's in it
The report covers what prom costs a household and where the money goes, how students choose and shop for a dress, what they wish they'd known before buying, and how school dress codes are applied in practice.
We're not publishing any of those findings early, and you won't find preview statistics on this page. The survey is still in the field, so any number here would be a guess dressed up as data.
How it's run
The methodology is published alongside the report: how respondents were recruited, the exact wording of every question, the sample size and its limits, and the raw anonymised data. If our sample can't support a claim, we won't make it — and we'll say which questions came back too thin to report.
Nobody pays to be included, and no brand sees the results before you do.
Citing it
The report is free to quote and reproduce with attribution, including by journalists and students. When it publishes, this page carries a citation block, the full dataset as a versioned CSV, and the chart source files. Being easy to cite is the point.
How you'll know it's out.
The report lands in January 2027, free to read and free to cite, with the dataset attached. There's no mailing list yet — we'd rather not collect addresses until we've chosen a provider that meets our privacy rules, so for now, check back or ask us to let you know.
